आज शिक्षक दिवस है। सोचा, आज का दिन आप सबके नाम एक चिट्ठी लिखने के लिए ही ठीक रहेगा।Today is Teachers’ Day. It seemed the right day to write you all a letter.
हमारे यहाँ बच्चे की पढ़ाई में दो मोड़ सबसे बड़े होते हैं। पहला दसवीं के बाद आता है, दूसरा बारहवीं के बाद। दोनों जगह फ़ैसला जल्दी में होता है, और अक्सर सुनी-सुनाई बातों पर।In a child’s schooling here, two turnings matter more than any others. The first comes after Class 10, the second after Class 12. At both, the decision is made in a hurry, and usually on what somebody heard from somebody.
दसवीं का नतीजा आते ही तय होता है कि ग्यारहवीं में कौन-से विषय लेने हैं। विज्ञान, वाणिज्य, कला, कृषि, व्यावसायिक। यह एक चुनाव आगे के दस साल का दायरा बाँध देता है। घरवाले वही बता पाते हैं जो उन्होंने देखा है। नीयत सबकी अच्छी होती है। बस पूरी जानकारी किसी के पास नहीं होती।The moment the Class 10 result is out, it gets settled which subjects will be taken in Class 11. Science, Commerce, Arts, Agriculture, Vocational. That one choice fixes the boundary of the next ten years. The family can only tell what it has seen. Nobody means any harm. It is just that nobody has the whole picture.
दूसरा मोड़ बारहवीं के बाद आता है, और वह पहले से भी सुनसान है। नतीजा आता है और घर में एक ही बात होती है, अब तैयारी करो। किसकी तैयारी, यह कोई नहीं बताता। कौन-सी परीक्षा, किस संस्था से, कब आती है, और उसमें पढ़ा क्या जाता है। कौन-सी डिग्री किस काम तक ले जाती है, और उसमें कितना ख़र्च आएगा। और अगर दो-तीन साल में बात न बने, तो उसके बाद क्या। ये सवाल बच्चे के मन में होते हैं। किससे पूछे, यह उसे नहीं पता होता।The second turning comes after Class 12, and it is emptier than the first. The result arrives and at home there is only one sentence: now start preparing. For what, nobody says. Which examination, from which body, when it comes, and what is actually studied for it. Which degree leads to which work, and what that will cost. And if it does not come off in two or three years, what then. These questions are in the child’s head. Who to put them to is what they do not know.
मुझे मालूम है कि किस विषय-समूह से कौन-सा रास्ता खुलता है और कौन-सा बंद हो जाता है। मेरे साथी शिक्षकों को भी मालूम है। हम बैठकर बच्चे को समझा भी देते हैं। पर एक कक्षा में साठ बच्चे बैठे हैं, और ऐसी कई कक्षाएँ हैं। और जिस रात यह फ़ैसला होता है, उस रात मैं वहाँ नहीं होता। बच्चा घर पर होता है, और सवाल उसके मन में होता है।I know which subject group opens which road, and which one closes it. The teachers I work with know it too. We do sit a child down and explain it. But there are sixty children in a class, and there are many such classes. And on the night the decision actually gets made, I am not there. The child is at home, and the question is in their head.
बस यही कमी बरसों खटकती रही।That is the gap that kept nagging, year after year.
फिर जुलाई 2026 में डाइट बाड़मेर में करियर मार्गदर्शन का प्रशिक्षण हुआ। चार दिन, 14 से 17 जुलाई तक। ज़िले भर से सत्रह शिक्षक वहाँ आए थे। बातचीत में समझ आया कि यह शिकायत अकेले मेरी नहीं है। सवाल सबके पास वही आते हैं, और देने को किसी के पास कुछ लिखा हुआ नहीं होता। काम वहीं से शुरू हुआ। इस पोर्टल का पहला रूप उसी प्रशिक्षण में सबके सामने रखा गया।Then in July 2026 there was a career-guidance training at DIET Barmer. Four days, the 14th to the 17th. Seventeen teachers had come in from across the district. Talking there, it became clear that this complaint was not mine alone. The same questions come to all of us, and not one of us has anything written down to hand over. The work began there. The first form of this portal was put before everyone at that same training.

The questions they raised, the stories they told, the gaps they counted out: a great deal of this portal came out of those four days of talking. All of their names are recorded on the portal’s front page, in the workshop section.

Those four days both began this and gave it its direction.
ऐसा भी नहीं कि जानकारी कहीं थी ही नहीं। सरकार ने सब कुछ छाप रखा है। पर वह बीस अलग-अलग वेबसाइटों पर पड़ी है। ज़्यादातर अंग्रेज़ी में। कहीं पी.डी.एफ़. के भीतर, कहीं लॉगिन के पीछे। जिस बच्चे को उसी रात तय करना है, उसके फ़ोन में वह जानकारी नहीं होती। कमी जानकारी की नहीं थी, पहुँच की थी।It is not as if the information did not exist. The government has published all of it. But it lies scattered across twenty different websites. Mostly in English. Some of it inside PDFs, some behind a login. On the phone of the child who has to decide that same night, it simply is not there. What was missing was never the information. It was the reach.
तो हमने वही करने की कोशिश की जो हम कक्षा में एक-एक बच्चे के साथ करते हैं। सब एक जगह इकट्ठा किया। हिंदी में लिखा। और बच्चे के अपने फ़ोन में रख दिया। ताकि सवाल जब उठे, जवाब उसी वक़्त पास हो।So we tried to do what we do in a classroom with one child at a time. We gathered it into one place. We wrote it in Hindi. And we put it in the child’s own phone. So that when the question comes, the answer is right there.
बच्चे को करियर के नाम ही कितने मालूम होते हैं? चार-पाँच। डॉक्टर, इंजीनियर, मास्टर, पुलिस। रास्ते इतने ही नहीं हैं। इस पोर्टल में सैकड़ों काम गिनाए गए हैं, और हर एक के साथ यह भी लिखा है कि वहाँ तक पहुँचा कैसे जाता है। कौन-से विषय चाहिए, कितनी पढ़ाई, कहाँ से, कितना ख़र्च, और आगे जाकर क्या बनता है। जो चीज़ बच्चे ने कभी देखी ही न हो, उसे वह चुनेगा कैसे?How many careers can a child even name? Four or five. Doctor, engineer, teacher, police. The roads are not that few. This portal sets out hundreds of them, and beside each one it says how that road is actually reached. Which subjects it needs, how much study and from where, what it costs, and what it grows into later. How is a child to choose a thing they have never once seen?
सरकारी नौकरी का सवाल हर घर में आता है। उसे टाल देने का कोई मतलब नहीं था, इसलिए वह हिस्सा भी उतनी ही मेहनत से बनाया गया। कौन-सी संस्था कौन-सा पद भरती है, सी.ई.टी. के एक पर्चे से कितने दरवाज़े खुलते हैं, एस.एस.सी. की कौन-सी परीक्षा किस काम तक ले जाती है, यह सब एक जगह रख दिया। साथ में एक बात साफ़ लिख दी, क्योंकि वह लिखी जानी ज़रूरी थी। पद कितने निकले हैं यह अलग बात है, और आपका नंबर आएगा या नहीं यह बिलकुल अलग। यह पोर्टल किसी को झूठी उम्मीद नहीं बेचता।The question of a government job comes up in every home. There was no sense in ducking it, so that part was built with the same care. Which body fills which post, how many doors a single CET paper opens, which SSC examination leads to which work: all of it in one place. And one thing written plainly alongside, because it needed writing. How many posts have been advertised is one matter; whether your number comes up is quite another. This portal sells nobody false hope.
और सरकारी नौकरी अकेला रास्ता भी नहीं है। निजी क्षेत्र में घुसा कैसे जाता है, अपनी इकाई कैसे खड़ी होती है, गाँव में रहकर क्या काम किया जा सकता है, ये सब भी उसी तफ़सील से लिखे हैं। बच्चे के सामने पूरी तस्वीर होनी चाहिए, आधी नहीं।And a government job is not the only road either. How you get into the private sector, how a unit of your own is put on its feet, what work can be done while staying in the village: those are set out in the same detail. A child should have the whole picture in front of them, not half of it.
नाम भी सोच-समझकर रखा है। सारथी लड़ाई नहीं लड़ता। लड़ने वाला उसके पीछे बैठा होता है। सारथी बस रास्ता जानता है, लगाम सँभालता है, और मोड़ आने पर हाथ उठाकर दिशा बता देता है। लड़ाई बच्चे की अपनी है। वह कोई और नहीं लड़ सकता। पर रास्ता दिखाया जा सकता है।The name was chosen with some thought too. The saarthi does not fight. The one who fights sits behind him. The charioteer only knows the way, holds the reins, and when the turning comes he raises a hand and points. The battle belongs to the child. Nobody else can fight it for them. But the way can be shown.
यही तो हम रोज़ करते आए हैं। यह पोर्टल हमारी जगह लेने नहीं आया। यह बस उस फ़ासले को कम करता है जो हमारे और बच्चे के फ़ैसले के बीच रह जाता है।That is what we have been doing all along. This portal has not come to take our place. It only shortens the distance left between us and the moment a child decides.

Some roads open with that single choice, and some close with it. And still it is usually settled inside a week, with nothing written down in front of anyone.

इस पोर्टल के लगभग सौ करियर ऐसे हैं जिनकी सीढ़ी आख़िर में अपनी इकाई पर जाकर ख़त्म होती है। यह पन्ना बताता है कि वह होता कैसे है — निःशुल्क उद्यम पंजीकरण (और मंत्रालय की अपनी चेतावनी कि नक़ली साइटें पैसे माँगती हैं), पी.एम.ई.जी.पी. की मार्जिन-मनी सब्सिडी, मुद्रा ऋण, और आई-स्टार्ट राजस्थान।Around a hundred careers in this portal have a ladder that ends at a unit of your own. This page says how that is actually done — free Udyam registration (with the Ministry’s own warning that fake sites will ask you for money), the PMEGP margin-money subsidy, MUDRA loans, and iStart Rajasthan.

यह पोर्टल विद्यार्थी के हाथ में देने के लिए बना है, पर चलाना शिक्षक को ही पड़ता है। इसलिए शिक्षक का हिस्सा अलग से बनाया गया है, और वह कक्षा में इस्तेमाल होने लायक़ है — सिर्फ़ पढ़ने लायक़ नहीं।This portal is built to be put in a student’s hands, but it is a teacher who has to run it. So the teacher’s half was built separately, and built to be used in a classroom — not merely read.
इस पर भरोसा क्यों किया जाएWhy this can be trusted
करियर की जानकारी में सबसे बड़ा ख़तरा पुरानी जानकारी है। फ़ीस बदल जाती है, आयु-सीमा बदल जाती है, ज़िले की सीमा तक बदल जाती है — और पुराना आँकड़ा उतने ही भरोसे से पढ़ा जाता है जितना नया। इसलिए इस पोर्टल में तीन नियम तय किए गए हैं:The greatest danger in career information is information that has gone old. Fees change, age limits change, even district boundaries change — and an out-of-date figure is read with exactly the same confidence as a current one. So three rules were set for this portal:
